Anna Salman (born September 18, 1998) is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, and former vocalist of the The All Girl Band.[1][2]
Early Life and Career
Born in Lahore, Anna started her musical journey with Nescafé Basement[3] in 2015. She performed the rendition of John Newman's number Love Me Again,[4] which was also lauded by the vocalist himself.[5] Since then, she has collaborated with a number of brands including Pepsi, Khaadi, Sapphire,[6] Levi's[7] and more. She also released her debut track "Middle of Nowhere"[8] on Levi's Live.[9] Her debut song was nominated at the Lux Style Awards in the category of Best Emerging Talent.[10][11] Anna and her band then released "Mera Nahi Hai," a track that garnered widespread appreciation.[12][13]
In 2021, Anna Salman[14] parted ways with her all-girl band to pursue a solo path. She marked this transition by releasing her debut Urdu track, "Dur Nahi." This change also saw a shift in her musical genre from electronic to pop, resulting in the release of tracks like "I'd Like To Think," "Company," and "New York." Dur Nahi[15] received a Lux Style Awards nomination[16] once again, this time in the category of Song of the Year.
In 2023, Anna Salman[17] made her US debut appearance at SXSW[18][19], becoming the first Pakistani female artist to feature on this international music festival.
Anna also appeared at TEDx at LUMS with her band, The All Girl Band.[20]
