Angelyn Mitchell is a professor of English at Georgetown University in the Department of English and Program in African-American Studies.[1] She is the founding director of Georgetown's African-American Studies Program.[2]

Education and Career

Mitchell attended North Carolina State University for her bachelor's degree and North Carolina Central University for her master's degree. She received her doctoral degree from Howard University.[3] She has written on such authors as Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, and Arthur P. Davis.[4] In 2020, she was a recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award at Georgetown University. [5]
