Angela Bourassa (born August 29, 1986) is a professional screenwriter best known for the screenplay to the film If You Were the Last, which premiered at the SXSW Festival in 2023.[1][2] The film is a romantic comedy directed by Kristian Mercado and starring Zoë Chao opposite Anthony Mackie as stranded astronauts who pass their time dancing, watching movies, nurturing hobbies, and debating whether to take their friendship to the next level.[2][3] The film was acquired by NBCUniversal, which released it to the Peacock streaming platform on October 20, 2023.[4] Bourassa's script also won recognition by The Black List, where it was recognized as the fourth best unproduced script in 2020 before being picked up for production.[5]

Bourassa's script, Everything is Right Until It's Wrong (now under its new title Turn Me On) won a Gold Prize in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards.[6] It was produced by Truant Pictures and filmed in 2022, starring Bel Powley and Nick Robinson.[7][8] It is set to be distributed in North America by IFC Films.[9]

Bourassa was listed among the Austin Film Festival's Screenwriter's to watch in 2022.[10]
