Angel Alberich-Bayarri is the founder and CEO of the company QUIBIM (Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers in Medicine.[1] His main research interests are related to the application of artificial intelligence methods to radiology.[2][3][4]

Education

Alberich completed his Telecommunications Engineering in Electronics from Polytechnic college of Valencia. He also earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the same university.[5][6]

Research and Career

His researches are mostly related to imaging biomarkers information system and the application of artificial intelligence methods to radiology.[7][8] His research also includes a study of smart analysis algorithms for medical images.[9]

He also served as a Research and Development Engineer and as a Director of Biomedical Engineering at Quiron Hospital Group.[10] At the Polytechnic University of Valencia, he worked as a Professor of Advanced Medical Imaging. He conducts seminars in the field of Master of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Zaragoza and the Master Advances in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology at the University of Granada.

Awards

Dr. Alberich has been awarded with the European Pro-Academy Award, and Award for the best scientific contribution in the field of Oncology (2014), the Young Innovators under the age of 35 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).[11]

He is also one of the Board Member of European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EUSOMII) and also serving as a member of the E-Health Committee of the European Society of Radiology.[12][13]
