Anele Siswana is a registered clinical psychologist affiliated with the Helping Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA).[1]Anele holds a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from Rhodes University[2]and is an alumnus of Nelson Mandela University, where he earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree in Counselling [3]. Notably, he has also expanded his knowledge by obtaining a higher certificate in Theology through Theological Education by Extension College (TEEC) [2]

Anele Siswana's professional journey encompasses a diverse range of experiences in both public service and private sector healthcare settings. He initiated his career at Fort England Psychiatric Hospital in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape.[4]and later joined Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Gara-Nkuwa, Pretoria[5]. He served as an academic/lecturer at the University of Johannesburg within the psychology department[1][6] . He is known for his work in critical masculinities, the decolonization of psychology, and queer studies[5].He operates as an independent contractor at the University of South Africa [7],utilizing his skills as a faith and divine healer, bridging western-European psychological knowledge and African epistemologies[8][9]^. Anele works holistically using different modalities and mostly indigenous/African spiritual methods encompassing the mind, soul, spirit, and energy[10][7]

Anele Siswana is not only recognized for his scholarly work but also for his role as a public intellectual and media personality. He actively engages in various social media platforms and productions, contributing to important dialogues and discussions. Moreover, he is a spiritualist and healer who emphasizes the significance of African Situated Psychology and African Theology (spirituality).[1]
