Andy Lynch is a scriptwriter known for his contributions to television, radio and stage from 1970s onwards. Lynch is responsible for memorable moments in British television history such as the Brookside siege and the Emmerdale plane crash, a storyline which generated the show's highest viewing figures of 18 million.

Early Life

Andy Lynch was born in St Helens, Merseyside in 1948 to an Irish father and English mother. Growing up, he developed a keen interest in literature and storytelling which ultimately led him to leave his occupation in the chemical industry to pursue a career in scriptwriting.
