Andy Hau Yan Ho is a health psychologist and social scientist at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). His specializes in the research and teaching of digital health[1] and digital therapeutics,[2] thanatology[3] and public health palliative care[4], psychosocial gerontology[5], integrative therapy[6], and community empowerment[7]. He is the Head of Psychology of the School of Social Sciences at NTU, the Founding Director of the Action Research for Community Health (ARCH) Laboratory, and the Director of Research of the Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education (PalC) in Singapore. He is also the 2022-23 President of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).

Andy has founded numerous innovative and internationally acclaimed psycho-socio-spiritual interventions for health and mental health promotion, some of which include Mindful-Compassion Art-based Therapy (MCAT)[8] for caregiver burnout prevention, Family Dignity Intervention (FDI)[9] for holistic palliative care, and Aspiration and Resilience Through Intergenerational Storytelling and Art-based Narratives (ARTISAN)[10] for building compassionate citizenry. He has authored over 120 top-tier publications as well as presented more than 200 keynote and plenary lectures including his recent TEDx Talk on “Art-Based Storytelling: A Powerful Tool for Healing and Sharing”[11]

Andy is the first Asian Recipient of the ‘ADEC Academic Educator Award’ in 2018, while receiving the celebrated ‘Nanyang Education Award’ Award in 2019 and conferred the ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ by the University of Hong Kong in 2020. Andy’s social and scholarly contributions are recognized with distinction around the world.
