Andrew Camarata (born December 11, 1985)[1] is an American Social Media Personality famous for his YouTube Channel[2] where he showcases work from his property maintenance company Camarata Property Maintenance LLC [3] as well as his personal building projects.

He gained significant notoriety for his shipping container castle building [4] that was featured on his channel. The shipping container castle project was also featured in an Interesting Engineering Article titled "Guy Builds Modern Castle out of Shipping Containers".[5]

Andrew's Youtube channel was created on August 17, 2014. According to his Social Blade profile [6] his subscriber count passed 1 million in September of 2021. His channel currently has over half a billion combined views.[7]

Early life

Andrew was born in Saugerties, New York, on December 11, 1985. He has lived in Saugerties his entire life. Surrounded by the Catskill Mountains Andrew has enjoyed the beautiful scenery and adventures of living an outdoor life style.

Andrew can be seen in early home videos from his "Talking about every vehicle I've had" video riding his three wheeler—a Yamaha YT60L Tri-Zinger—which he still owns today. This video shows various other motorized toys that he enjoys riding with his younger sister, Chelsea.[8]

Career

After high school he pursued a degree in computer science at a local technical college[9] before making the switch and following his father and going to work for the United States Postal Service.

Andrew worked for the postal service for several years until he was able to save up enough money to buy his first piece of heavy equipment, a 1965 John Deere 1010 Dozer in 2009 for $3500.[10][11] He purchased a Komatsu PC15R excavator and a Ford 1520 Tractor in 2010[12] and started to do property maintenance jobs on the side after work and on the the weekends while still working at the post office. Eventually he was able to to transition into property maintenance full time founded Camarata Property Maintenance LLC.

In 2016 Andrew started to upload time lapse videos of his projects regularly on YouTube. By 2019 he had over 200,000 subscribers.

In 2020 Andrew can be heard in an interview with Sid Phillips[13]saying he has become more selective with the jobs he takes, only looking to do 'Interesting' projects that he can film for YouTube.
