Music career

Cadie has been a member of the German-based English folk duo, Broom Bezzums, since formation in 2005. The group have performed at notable UK folk festivals such as Sidmouth, Celtic Connections in Glasgow, TFF Rudolstadt in Germany, as well as TV appearances in Germany.

Keep Hauling, which is probably Cadie's best-known composition [1] [2], has been recorded by Show of Hands on their The Long Way Home album in 2016 and subsequently by Fishermans Friends on the soundtrack to their 2019 film, also called Fishermans Friends. Keep Hauling was the title track of the Soundtrack [3]Keep Hauling for the film, which peaked at number 26 in the UK Album Chart. [4]

In 2009 and 2010 Cadie toured the UK with Jez Lowe as a guest musician on the Winter Almanac Tours. [5] [6] He also contributed to the recording of the song, The Simian Son, which was released on Lowe's Heads Up album in 2012 [7]

As a studio musician and engineer, Cadie has collaborated on many projects, including Josey, The Indignant Daughter for November Club Theatre, where he is credited for additional sound design, mixing, mastering and bass synth. [8] He produced, co-wrote and played all the instruments for the song, Brother, for Darryl Blackman [9], which describes the singer's bond to Aaron Carter, from his time as his choreographer in 1997 to his untimely death, aged 34, in 2022.
