Andrej Grilc born in 1984, in Slovenia is a photographer and writer living in Vienna, Austria.[1] In 2003 Andrej published the poetry book Sinapse.[2] He finished his studies at the University of Ljubljana.[3] Andrej won first prizes for his literature at home and abroad.[4] After moving to Vienna he became a freelance photographer and children's book writer. In 2019 his first children's book „The Girl Who Laughed Too Much" with illustrations by Nea Likar[5] was published.[6]
Photography
Among musicians he worked with are Mischa Maisky, Martha Argerich, Ivo Pogorelich, Ivry Gitlis, Kirill Gerstein, Alena Baeva, Bryan Cheng,[7] Hagen Quartet, Trio Gaspard,[8] Hugo Wolf Quartett, Oslo String Quartet, Barbican Quartett,[9] Alban Berg Ensemble,[10] Wiener Akademie Orkester[11] etc. He was born into a family with long tradition in photography, dating back three generations to 1942.[12] The focus of his work is on portrait and concert photography in the field of classical music. He uses both analog and digital techniques. His work can be seen regularly in exhibitions and on the covers of major publishers such as Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Sony Classics, Warner Classics, Alpha Classics[13] and Naxos.[14]
