Andreas Kalyvas is a Greek political theorist and professor at The New School for Social Research specializing in critical theories of democracy, especially the work of Cornelius Castoriadis, Jürgen Habermas, Carl Schmidt, Hannah Arendt, and Axel Honneth.[1] Along with longtime collaborator Ira Katznelson, he is a co-author of Liberal Beginnings: Making a Republic for the Moderns.[2]
