Abdul Hakeem Faizy (Malayalam: അബ്ദുൽ ഹക്കീം ഫൈസി ആദൃശ്ശേരി), is an Indian Islamic scholar, progressive thinker, and educationalist. [1] [2] [2] He is the co-founder of Coordination of Islamic Colleges (C.I.C.) and the architect of Wafy and Wafiyya, two integrated courses combining Islamic studies with university degrees, which are currently being taught in over 90 Islamic colleges across Kerala. Faizy served as the General Secretary of the CIC till March 2023 when he quit the position following a row with the conservative Sunni body Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama.[3] [3] [4] [5] [6] He is the first executive board member from India at the Cairo-based League of Islamic Universities. [7] Faizy is also a representative from India at the Secretariat of the World Muslim Communities Council headquartered in Abu Dhabi. [8]
