Anand Mohan (born 15th November 1970) is an Indian Forest Service Officer of 1996 Batch with cadre Rajasthan. He is currently working as Joint Secretary in Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. [1]

Personal Life

He did his schooling from Chandrapura in the Bokaro District of Jharkhand. Later, he graduated as a Civil Engineer from National Institute of technology, [2]Jamshedpur. In 1996, he became an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer in Rajasthan.[3] Currently he lives with his family in Delhi.

Career in Rajasthan

Anand Mohan is an IFS officer from Rajasthan therefore he worked in Kota, Jhalawar, Barmer, Bundi and Jaipur in Government of Rajasthan. He worked in the Ranthambore National Park from 2006 to 2012. Focused in management of the park. He also promoted eco-tourism. Later he moved to the Government of India in the Ministry of Urban Development as a Director. Then he was a CVO in Bureau of Indian Standards. After this in 2019, he moved back to Kota, Rajasthan as a Chief Conservator of Forest of Kota. Then again he moved back to New Delhi in 2022 as a Joint Secretary in Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. This is his present posting.

Ranthambore Posting

He was first posted here as a Mission Director & Project Director, Department of Local Self & Urban Development, Government of Rajasthan and implemented a Mission in State of Rajasthan funded by Central Finance Commission Grants.[4] Then after 5 years there in 2011, he was reposted there as a Field Director, Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve & Conservator of Forests, Govt. of Rajasthan. He was responsible for the Management and Conservation the Ranthambore National Park and promoted Eco-Tourism across the state in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism, Government Of India.[5]

Delhi Posting

Coming to Government of India, he was posted as a Director, Ministry of Urban Development & Deputy CVO in the Ministry of Urban Development[6]. Dealing with various activities including Capacity Building under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), one of the flagship programs for Urban India. Then he became the Land Development Officer, Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India[7] in the 2014. Dealing with problems as Head of Department on matters related conversion from leasehold properties to freehold, mutation/substitution, permission for mortgaging, sale, change of land use etc. pertaining to land owned by Government of India in Delhi. In 2017, he worked as a Chief Vigilance Officer in Bureau of Indian Standards seeing day to day operations.[8]

Kota Posting

In this period, he worked as Chief Conservator of Forest, Kota looking after the affairs of forestry, Environment Welfare, Tourism etc in the Hadauti region of Rajasthan.[8] In addition to that he also worked as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Production) and the Managing Director of a newly formed state owned company Rajasthan State Forest Development Corporation. During this duration he also worked as Member Secretary of Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and overlooked issues of Industrial Pollution, Clean Air Program in NCR and Rajasthan, Digitization through complete revamping of the Consent granting process to Industries by the PCB as an important Ease of Doing activity.[9]

Delhi Posting(Present)

Currently working as a Joint Secretary in Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He is working as on the implementation of National Dam Safety Act 2021 and Dam Rehabilitation and improvement program. As a joint secretary, he is responsible for all this work on a National-Level.
