Amy Hollingsworth is an Australian dancer, director and choreographer. In January 2019, Hollingsworth was appointed Artistic Director of the Australasian Dance Collective, one of Australia’s leading contemporary dance companies, based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Early life
Amy Hollingsworth trained at the Australian Ballet School where she was awarded the Marilyn Rowe Maver Scholarship. After graduating she danced with the Royal New Zealand Ballet as a principal dancer.
Career
Hollingsworth's extensive dance career has included working with some of the world’s leading companies: Rambert Dance Company, Michael Clark Company, BalletBoyz, Hofesh Shechter Company (led by the legendary Hofesh Shechter and Sydney Dance Company.
In 2006, Hollingsworth departed Rambert Dance Company to be a founding member of Bonachela Dance Company, established by Rafael Bonachela, the current Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company.
In 2010, Hollingsworth returned to Australia to join Sydney Dance Company as a senior dancer and was later appointed the company’s Dance Director.
Based in Brisbane, Queensland since 2015, Hollingsworth has also collaborated to develop the Supercell Dance Festival and the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony.
