Amja is a small village of 961 hectares in Garhi Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Amja depends on Partapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Amja is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Amja's pin code is 327034[4], and village code is 03423800. The area of Amja is segregated as 235 hectares irrigated area, 96 hectares unirrigated, the 179 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38.22 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Amja is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2713 and has total administration over 608 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Partapur and Banswara to sell earthen pot and make their living.
