Biography
Jeffries is an African American born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from Escambia High School in 2010 and earned a bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University in 2014. Jeffries graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a bachelor’s in health science/pre-physical therapy and a minor in psychology, with the intention of becoming a doctor in physical therapy, but her passions for social activism and advocacy led her to law school. Jeffries received a Juris Doctor from the Stetson University College of Law in 2019.[5]
Amika Jeffries was chosen to work with Florida Legal Services in Newberry, Florida, which provides legal aid to low-income families in the community. She was excited to support the Florida Institutional Legal Services program, which provides civil legal aid to those in Florida state prisons, county jails, and mental health facilities. Jeffries advocates for underserved communities, often tackling economic, social justice, and discrimination cases, working pro-bono with legal aid clinics and community events and serving on the executive board of the national reproductive justice organization If/When/How.[6][7]
Personal life
Jeffries has dedicated her life to serving others in all aspects of her life. When Jeffries isn't wearing her attorney hat, she enjoys grilling food, binge-watching a TV series, or planning a vacation.[8]
