The American Heart Association (AHA) is a non-profit organisation in the United States that works to reduce the number of deaths and disabilities caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke by funding cardiovascular medical research, educating consumers on healthy living, and fostering appropriate cardiac care. These activities are carried out in an effort to reduce the number of deaths and disabilities caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. In 1915, the company was established in New York City; however, its present headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas. The American Heart Association is a nationwide non-profit organisation that focuses on cardiovascular health.

They are notable for providing recommendations on cardiovascular illness and prevention, standards on basic life support, advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and paediatric advanced life support (PALS), and in 2014 they published their first guidelines for the prevention of strokes in women. They are well-known for these publications. They are also recognised for running a series of extremely prominent public service programmes beginning in the 1970s and for running a number of fundraising events, both of which have contributed to their widespread notoriety. The American Heart Association was recognised as the fifth "most popular charity/non-profit in America" according to a research that was published in 1994 by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, a newspaper that serves as the trade journal for the sector. In 2018, Forbes ranked the association as the 22nd biggest charitable organisation in the world.

The phrase "To be a persistent force for a world of longer, healthier lives" may be found in the organization's mission statement, which was revised in 2018.
