Ambrose Gardeil, O.P., was born on March 29, 1859 in Nancy, France and died on October 2, 1931. He was a Dominican priest and theologian. He specialized in mystical theology. He influenced thinkers such as Jacques Maritain, Marie-Michael Labourdette, Marie-Dominique Chenu, Yves Congar, and Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange.[1]
Biography
He entered the Order of Preachers in 1878 and was a professor of theology at the Studium of the Dominican Province of France from 1884 to 1911. He cofounded the Revue Thomiste.
