Amar Giri (Dr. Amarraj Giri) is basically a strong poet of the progressive trend. Born in Rampur, Dang, poet Giri, who has been active in politics and journalism for a long time, has served as a member of the academic council of Nepal Pragya Pratishthan, head of the poetry department, executive chairman of the film development board and president of the Progressive Writers Association. He is currently a member of the Language Commission and is active in academic work. Giri, a senior poet, thinker and critic who has made his own unique academic identity in the field of contemporary Nepali literature, started writing poetry from school level. His first poem is 'Being Like Ho Chi Minh' which he wrote when he was in class 7. Giri's first published poem is Aama (2031). It was published in Sandesh, a popular newspaper from Banaras at that time. It seems that four and a half decades have passed since his formal creative journey that started from that. Giri's first published work is 'Gham Chekne Pahad (Kavitasangraha, 2055)'.[1] [2]

Early Life

As the first son of mother Lilavati Giri and father Vasudev Giri, V. No. Amar Giri was born on August 27, 2017 in Nimuria 2, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, and currently resides in Ratanpur 15, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Dang. Giri's childhood was spent in that rural environment.[3]

Education and Work Life

In terms of receiving formal education, Amar Giri has completed MA, B.Ed. as well as studies up to Ph.D. level in Nepali subjects and received Nepal Vidyabhushan 'A' class degree from Nepal government. He has gained his expertise in the research work of poetry genre by completing his degree from Tribhuvan University on "Class Conflict in Contemporary Progressive Nepali Poetry".
