Amadou Sidibe (born March 25, 1994) Is a professional March 25, 1994 American-Ivorian basketball player who currently plays for France club ALM Évreux Basket in the LNB Pro B league. He played college basketball for the Fairfield Stags.

High School Career

Sidibe is the son of Ivorian parents, who migrated to the United States in search for a better life.[1] He attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. As a junior, Sidibe led Cardinal Hayes to its second CHSAA ‘A’ title game while averaged a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds per game and also showing his defensive prowess with 3 blocks per game.[2] Sidibe followed his senior season averaging a double-double with 15 points and 12 while being recognized amongst the top boys basketball players in New York City.[3] After a strong high school career, Sidibe decided to attend Fairfield University to further his education and basketball career.[4]

College Career

As a freshman, Sidibe earned MAAC All-Rookie team honors[5] as well as being named the MAAC Co-Rookie of the year.[6] As a sophomore, Sidibe served as the team captain. As a junior, Sidibe emerged as one of the MAAC conference’s top rebounders as well as the team’s most accurate shooter connecting of 49.1 percent of his shots. Sidibe missed his entire senior campaign due to injury. Sidibe returned for a fifth-year with the Stags basketball program. As a grad-student, Sidibe placed second in the MAAC in rebounding with (9.3 rpg) and second in field goal percentage with (.576). Sidibe finished is college career as the program’s sixth all-time rebounder.[7]

Professional Career

After a solid college campaign, Sidibe further is career by signing his first professional basketball contract In Spain with Lucentum Alicante.[8] After a strong outing with the Spanish club, Sidibe jointed the Portuguese first division with SC Lusitania. With the Portuguese club, Sidibe finished the season as the best rebounder of the league with 13.1 rebounds per game and was also named league regular season MVP.[9] He would return to Spain by joining Club Melilla Baloncesto in LEB ORO.[10] On June 2020, Sidibe decided to further his career by signing in France with ALM Evreux Basket in the LNB Pro B league.[11]

National Selection

Possessing Ivorian nationality from his his parents and requested for his services on the national team since 2016, Sidibe finally joined the Ivorian selection in 2019 in order to prepare for the 2019 Fiba World Cup.[12] However, an administrative problem prevented him from taking part in the competition.
