Allison Fine is a social change maker, innovator, and futurist. She is known for her deeply inclusive and ethical style of leadership. She has served on and chaired many boards and is a sought-after speaker.

Career

She was the CEO of Innovation Network, the Network of Elected Women, and the E-volve Foundation. She has written four books on the use of digital technology by nonprofit organizations. Momentum: Igniting Social Change in the Connected Ag (Wiley, 2006), winner of the Terry McAdams award. the bestselling The Networked Nonprofit (Wiley, 2010) co- authored with Beth Kanter. Matterness: Fearless Leadership for a Social World (2015, Legacy Books.) The Smart Nonprofit: Staying Human-Centered in an Automated World (Wiley, 2022)

She founded Innovation Network ( www.innonet.org ) in the early 1990s in Washington, DC. InnoNet specializes in evaluating harder-to-measure concepts such as advocacy and social movements. The organization partners nonprofits and foundations in the areas of advocacy, health and health equity, and social justice. It is also committed to advancing the field of evaluation through our research, practice, and sharing learnings with the broader evaluation and nonprofit community.

From 2008-2014, she was a senior fellow at Demos: A Network of Ideas and Action in their democracy program.

In 2019-2020, she ran for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District. During her career she has worked with many organizations including Ford Foundation, Women’s Funding Network, The New York Women’s Foundation, the Fannie Mae Foundation, the Charles and Andrea Bronfman Foundation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Power of Attorney, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the Baltimore Jewish Council, the Environmental Support Center, The Omidyar Network, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation.

She has recently been a senior advisor to Possibility Labs, A BIPOC-led donor advised fund, and Plan C, an online hub of information and access to abortion medication.

Allison is an unapologetic feminist and Mets fan.

Early life and education

Allison Fine grew up in Sleepy Hollow, NY. She graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in 1982. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1986 with a B.A. in history and political science. She earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Wagner School at NYU in 1989.

Personal Life

Allison is married to Scott Freiman (www.deconstructingthebeatles.com) They have three chidren: Max, Zack and Jackson. They live in Sleepy Hollow, NY
