Alla Arutyunyan (born 30 May) is a film actress and composer known for her work in films such as Gulag Barashevo, Should the Wind Drop, New Skin, and Lola. She also gained recognition as a pianist after being awarded the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition Prize.[1]
Early life and education
Alla Arutyunyan was born on May 30 in Moscow, Soviet Union where she developed an early passion for the arts. After moving to the United States, she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in order to hone her skills in acting.
Career
Alla Arutyunyan's early roles include appearances in independent films such as Gulag Barashevo (2015), Should the Wind Drop (2020), and New Skin (2014). Prior to her work in film, she had ventured into theatre performing in several notable productions.[2]
In addition to her work on stage and in front of the camera, Alla Arutyunyan pursued a music career as a film and classical composer. Amongst her most notable works is the film score for the drama film Lola (2014). She has later starred in and written a soundtrack for the short film Leila (2014). After a decade of hiatus, she returned to music and received accolades as a pianist after being awarded the prestigious prize at the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition in 2025.
