Alexis Rateau, Born January 25th 1993 in Chambray-Les-Tours, is a French wildlife photographer.
Biography
His passion for design led him to pursue a BTS in bodywork design and production in Niort, but he quickly realized that his true passion lay elsewhere.[1]
He stumbled into photography by chance in 2016 during his travels, using a borrowed reflex camera. Afterward, he decided to purchase one and delved into nocturnal landscape photography at the outset.[2]
He self-taught himself in photography and began collaborating with brands through the Hamelin agency, notably with Asus Spain in 2016.[3]
Shortly after experimenting with various subjects, he shifted his focus to the animal realm, particularly the local fauna. Since then, he has relished observing animals in their natural habitats and capturing his encounters through highly minimalist animal portraits.[4]
In 2020, he participated as a photographer in a caving expedition in the Thai jungle (Khao Phu Thong - Khao Tha Khanun)[5][6]
Later in 2023, he initiated a new collaboration with Rhinoshield, creating phone cases adorned with wildlife portraits. [7]

Collaboration
In 2016, he entered into his initial partnership with Asus Spain to showcase the capabilities of the ZenPhone3.
In 2019, he was selected by Canon from a pool of photographers to launch a new digital camera, the EOS 90D, highlighting its performance in wildlife and sports photography.
The photographs produced from this collaboration were showcased at the 2019 Salon de la Photo in Paris.
In 2023, the collaboration continues as Rhinoshield X AlexisRateau introduces new phone cases featuring wildlife portraits.[7]
