Alex Marè (3 March 1995 in Fermo) is an Italian photographer.

Biography

Son of the writer and actor Savino Marè, Alex was born on March 3, 1995, in Fermo and in 2015 he began his experience as a photographer, starting to work in the fashion industry. His shots appear in numerous Italian national newspapers and magazines,[1] and then reach abroad with LaPresse.[2] His photos have radiant magazines also at European[3] and International level.[4] After studying photography in 2014, he developed on black and white photography, starting to work in Milan.[5] After participating in the Milano Fashion Week,[6] he returns in the Marche and he will work simultaneously as a freelance photographer in Fermo and in the local police.

In July 2021 he inaugurated his first bimonthly exhibition "L'Assunta" at the Cathedral of Fermo, thus becoming the first person to organize an exhibition in the cathedral, commissioned by Archbishop Rocco Pennacchio and the rector of the cathedral Don Michele Rogante.[7] and, in the same year, he published his first book "Ritratto Fotografico", born with the aim of telling the historical period lived during the COVID-19 pandemic.[8] Civilians, carabinieri, police, the mayor of Fermo Paolo Calcinaro and Archbishop Rocco Pennacchio had themselves portrayed.[9] Towards the end of 2021, he taught communication at the Istituto Tecnico Statale Economico Tecnologico "G.B.Carducci - G. Galilei".[10]

Since publication, the book has been a bestseller in three Italian categories dealing with photography[11][12] and the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella,[13] Pope Francis,[14] and the Queens Elizabeth II[15] received the book. On April 19, the Municipality of Fermo awarded him with an official commendation, thanking him for having made the city of Fermo known in the world.[16] The mayor Calcinaro, together with the councilors Lanzidei and Scarfini, during the award ceremony they defined his work as of "great artistic impact".[17][18]

In an interview with Radio Rosario, an Argentine radio station, which took place simultaneously with CNN, Alex admitted that he was interested in representing situations of normal life in Sardinia through photography.[4] From 19 to 23 May he participated as a guest in the XXXV edition of the International Book Fair at the Marche pavilion set up in Turin.[19]

During his career he worked as a photographer for the Italian State Police band,[20] the Italian State Police[21] and for the Italian television personality Raffaello Tonon.[22] On March 4, 2022, a permanent exhibition was inaugurated in the police headquarters of Fermo, with photos of him made in honor of the Italian State Police.[23][24]
