Alex Crockford (born 15th June 1990) is a certified Personal Trainer, online fitness personality and fitness model. He is the CEO and creator of fitness movement CROCKFIT.[1] Founded in 2015, CROCKFIT originally distributed fitness plans to customers via PDF. The business transferred to an app in 2018, designed for use at home or the gym. The app made a digital boom during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021 and is currently has a 4.9 star rating on the Apple App Store.[2]

Alex is a fitness coach to all and an ambassador for leading supplier of health & fitness supplements and Sports nutrition BULK (since 2021).

Early life

Alex Crockford was born in 1990 and grew up in Ashford, Middlesex. He attended Strode’s College from 2006, where he received a diploma in Sports & Exercise Science in 2008.

Alex continued his training at Southampton Solent University from 2008, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fitness and Personal Training in 2011. Shortly after graduating in 2011, Alex became a personal trainer at a corporate gym where he began his personal training career.

Throughout school and college, Alex was always involving himself in sports and clubs but he also took a keen interest in the arts world. As a child, Alex spent many years acting on stage in theatre, in shows such as Carousel, Oliver and Shakespeare's Richard III. His interest in the arts world continues as he starts his acting career.

Career

Fitness Coach

Alex Crockford started his career in 2011 as a personal trainer before transitioning to the fitness world of virtual coaches. Alex is now considered one of the most influential figures in fitness, with a large social media following of over 1 million followers across various platforms.

Modelling

Alex has modelled for top international brands and has been featured on the cover of several fitness magazine publications. Most notably, Alex has featured on the cover of Muscle and Fitness and Men's Fitness.[3] Alex has appeared in multiple news publications digital and print throughout his career, including British GQ,[4] The Daily Mail,[5] The Metro,[6] Men's Health UK[7] & US[8] and Men's Fitness UK[9] as well as guest appearance on ITV's This Morning.

Alex has enjoyed successful athletic performances, taking part in 2 Marathons (London 2018 and Tokyo 2019), Half Iron Man (2014), Ride London-Surrey (2014), Coast to Coast Cycle:: Whitehaven to Newcastle (2017), four Tough Mudders, and most notably 24 hours of burpees. He has also taken part in many fitness events in person and digitally. Such as Women's Health UK Weekender 2021 and Live Well London 2020.

Aside from Bulk, Alex has earned sponsorship from Reflex Nutrition, The Fitness Foods Company, Under Armour and Sports Direct. He has also taken part in several notable collaborations with brands including Netflix, FitBit, TRX, Spotify, Clavin Klein, Vita Coco, and Canterbury of New Zealand.

In 2016, Alex went viral with a #FreeHugs campaign that saw him handing out free hugs to passers-by in London. The video racked up 10m+ views.

Television

Alex has made guest appearances on TV, including on ITV's This Morning. He has also featured in on-screen advertisements for O2 and Surf UK. He is currently pursuing an acting career.

Charity

Charity has always been a feature in Alex’s life, taking part in fundraising events such as: team strength records, long-distance running and cycle races, triathlons and sponsored skydives. Alex has also been involved in campaigns with Help for Heroes, Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, Epilepsy Support and the NHS.

In 2017, Alex completed 24 hours of chest-to-floor burpees to raise £9k for mental health charity, Mind. In the same year, Alex completed a 24 hour cycle for Children With Cancer and SPARKs.

In July 2020, Alex reduced the price of the #CROCKFit app to £0.99 and donated all proceeds to charity. He continues to give away his Crockfit plan free to NHS workers.

Personal Life

Alex married Sarah Dimes in West Byfleet, Surrey, U.K. in 2020. They currently live in Valencia, in Spain.
