Alessio Zanelli (born 1963) is an Italian poet who has adopted English as his creative-writing language,[1] best known for his collection The Secret Of Archery.[2][3][4]

Life

Born in Cremona, Italy, Zanelli started writing poetry and flash fiction in English in the mid-1980s, having learned the language completely as an autodidact.[5]

His poems have appeared in over 200 literary journals in 17 countries,[6][7] though mainly in the USA and in the UK. He has published five collections, two bilingual selections and a chapbook of poetry, which are all included in the Library of Congress (USA),[8] in the British Library (UK)[9] and in the National Poetry Library (UK).[10]

He is the Italian Stanza Representative[11] for The Poetry Society of London.

  • London Book Festival, 2008: Straight Astray (Troubador Publishing, 2005) - Honorable Mention[13]
