Alek Bélanger (born February 15, 1997) is a french Canadian multidisciplinary artist, award-winning filmmaker & actor.[1] His most recent project entitled NOIRE is a monochromatic art series[2]

Personal Life He grew up in a small town called Temiskaming Shores and moved to Toronto to major in Film Studies at the Toronto Metropolitan University. From an early age, he was passionate in pushing his love for creativity.[3]

Early Career Alek Bélanger has written and directed multi-award-winning short films. In 2012, he directed Foxy Lady which won best short film [2] at Cinfest, in 2013 he won best short film for Cursed: With a Single Kiss [4]. In 2015, Alek was nominated for the best short film category from his highly anticipated short film The Maker "Live Action"[5] at the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival which was inspired by the stop motion short film The Maker[6]. In 2015, his short film Vanity was nominated for best short film[7] A film that focused on the theme of living in a fast paced world & getting lost in its chaos. In 2018, he co-wrote and co-directed Bloody Affairs[8] which was screened at the Bloody Marry Film Festival and Toronto Shorts[9] in Toronto. It was a dark and sultry film that focused on revenge and justice.

Alek Bélanger has also acted in films such as Skating to New York directed by Charles Minsky and in the hit TV Series Letterkenny.

2018-Present After being involved in the entertainment and film industry, Alek decided to venture into his career in visual arts. In 2018 he created his first art series and has been part of various solo and group exhibitions since[10]. In 2019, The Temiskaming Art Gallery showcased his work[11] under a group exhibition entitled Top Rising Star Artist with Northern Roots. In 2021 he launched his B&W Virtual Art Show[12] It was Alek’s first virtual solo art exhibition. An art experience powered through advanced technology. In 2022, he booked his solo exhibition in Montreal, entitled NOIRE[13]. It was a monochromatic black series that took inspirations from the pop-art movement using unconventional materials. The artworks were meant to ignite intimate & risky feelings.
