Jordan Aled Evans, known professionally as Aled ap Steffan is a Welsh actor.
Early Life and Career
Aled was born in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales and was raised near Ammanford. He is a fluent Welsh speaker and attended Ysgol Parcyrhun and Ysgol Dyffryn Aman. Throughout school Aled competed in the National Eisteddfod of Wales|National Eisteddfod in clog dancing, Folk Dance |folk dancing[1] and acting. He spent a summer with the National Youth Theatre of Wales before going on to train at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating with a BA (Hons) in acting in 2017[2].
Steffan made his acting debut in an episode of Casualty (TV series)|Casualty[3][4] in 2010. Upon graduating drama school Aled was cast in the BBC comedy Outsiders[5] and Welsh noir thriller imdbtitle:9178250|35 Awr[6] for S4C. During the same year he was cast as Stan Priest in the pilot of In My Skin (TV series)|In My Skin[7][8] which went on to win best drama at the BAFTA Cymru awards. In 2019 Aled appeared in the BAFTA winning social drama The Left Behind[9] and played Rick in The Night in the Clink[10] for Sherman Theatre. Following the success of the pilot he returned as Priest in In My Skin which aired in 2020. Aled also appeared as Darren Edwards in Gangs of London (TV series)|Gangs of London[11] in 2020 and played Gavin in the world premiere of Tylwyth[12] by Dafydd James with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru at Sherman Theatre. He appeared in the BBC One crime thriller The Pact (British TV series)|The Pact[13][14][15]. He is both due to appear in series two of the Sky One drama Cobra (British TV series)|COBRA[16] and will continue his role as Stan Priest in the second series of In My Skin later in 2021.
Steffan portrayed Devon in the 2022 television film Life and Death in the Warehouse. The film explores themes of survival and morality within a high-pressure warehouse environment. He also appeared in the television series The Red King, where he plays the character Silas.
