Al-Shahroura is a television drama about the singer Sabah. It follows her professional and personal life from the age of seventeen, addressing the problems that she has experienced since her adolescence in Lebanon, and her adoption in Egypt, her children, and her many husbands, in addition to her family.[1] The show aired in Ramadan 2011.[2]

Al Shahroura was directed by Ahmed Shafiq with the help of scriptwriter Fedaa Al Shandawily.[3]

Al Shahroura showcases all the celebrities and stars who left a trace in Sabah's life, including the musician Assi Rahbani, producer Asia who presented Sabah to the entertainment industry in addition to Anwar Wagdi, Farid al-Atrash, Rushdy Abaza, Abdel Halim Hafez, Umm Kulthum and Hany Mhana.

Sabah's reaction was mostly positive towards the series and she was happy that it was a success, though she commented about certain inaccuracies, such as the depiction of her father as wearing traditional Lebanese garb.[4]

Episodes and seasons

The TV drama, Al Shahroura is only one season and 30 episodes.[5]

Cast

This biography stars singer Carol Samaha, who takes the role of Sabah, as well as a number of other artists like Ahmad Salameh, Hanan Souleiman, Ammar Shalak, Nadine Njeim, Darine Hmazeh, etc.[6]
