Aka Niviâna is a Inuk poet whose work focuses on nuanced conversations about not climate change, colonialism and indigenous peoples rights. Niviâna is from Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland).[1]
"Rise: From One Island to Another" (2018) [2] In 2018, Niviâna collaborated with Aka Niviâna, a climate change activist poet from the Marshall Islands, to write a poem about their stories of climate change. The poem, "Rise: From One Island to Another," connects their realities of melting glaciers and rising sea levels taking place in their homelands.[1]
