African Bush Camps is an African Safari company that owns, operates, and manages over 17 luxury lodges, camps, and expedition camps.[1] The properties owned by African Bush Camps are located in several African National Parks, including Mana Pools National Park, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park, and Matobo National Park, spread throughout Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.[2][3]
African Bush Camps are widely recognized as one of Africa's most trusted safari camp companies.[4] They have been featured in several leading media publications and magazines, such as Forbes, Luxury Travel Magazine, National Geographic, Conde Nast Traveler, and others. Notable awards won by the African Bush Camps include Reader’s Choice Awards (2022), World Travel Awards (2019), and Zimbabwe’s leader in Green Tourism.[5]
History
Beks Ndlovu founded African Bush Camps in 2016. Before starting his safari company, Beks Ndlovu was a professional safari guide working with safari companies in Zimbabwe.[6] However, he believed that the safaris offered needed more flexibility to experience the wonders of the African environment in various ways since they were often overly organized and rigid. Thus, he conceived the idea to establish his safari camp company, where guides could exercise their creativity and imagination. This desire gave birth to Somalisa Camp; the now-award-winning camp began as a modest endeavor to bring together African guides to educate guests about the continent.[7][8]
African bush camps distinguish themselves by providing unique and immersive safari experiences, such as village visits, paddling, and trekking.[9] The camps are constructed with environmental sustainability and little effect and destruction in mind.[10] Expert guides run the firm with years of experience in the African bush who engage visitors in a discussion by presenting stories that pique their interest.[11]

African Bush Camps Foundation
African Bush Camps also operate a non-profit foundation aimed at conserving, educating, and empowering the communities inhabited near the camps.[15] This is accomplished in various ways, including employing individuals from at-risk areas on the borders of national parks and executing community development programmes within these communities.[16] In addition, for every night a guest stays at the company's accommodations, the company donates US$10 to the foundation to support its activities.[17]
