Afreen Bhumgara (born September 20) is an Indian computer scientist, product manager, researcher, educator, and social activist known for her innovative work in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and big data. Bhumgara was born and raised in Pune, India, to parents Yazad and Shernaz Bhumgara. She is the great-granddaughter of world-cyclist Rustom R. Bhumgara. She pursued her master's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Engineering Management at Northwestern University. [3]


Bhumgara's professional portfolio includes varied roles in the technology industry, academia, and social activism. She has worked as a Product Manager - User Experience at Verkada, having previously served as Lead Product Manager at Goalster Corp. [4] Bhumgara's work has spanned AI, machine learning, fuzzy algorithms, neural networks, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things, with particular attention to the applications of these technologies in underdeveloped countries.
