Early Life and Education

Ady Macauley was born on the 01 December 1978 in Sierra Leone. He pursued his higher education in law at the University of London in 1998, achieving an LLB(Hons).

Between 2002 and 2004 passed the bar at the Inns of Court School of Law in City University, London and the Sierra Leone Law School and became a barrister, gaining recognition for his expertise in legal matters.

In 2017 he gained his master's at the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Vienna specialising in Anti-Corruption Studies.

Legal Career

Macauley has had an extensive career in law, practicing as a barrister and taking on high-profile cases at the B&J Solicitors Law Firm in Sierra Leone.

He previously served as the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Sierra Leone from April 2026 to June 2018,[2]where he led efforts to combat corruption and promote transparency in governance.

His tenure at the ACC was marked by several high-profile investigations and legal proceedings aimed at curbing corruption in both public and private sectors.[3]
