Adrian Laza (born 30 November 1963) is a Romanian - Canadian high-altitude mountaineer, forestry engineer and entrepreneur best known for climbing all 14 eight-thousander.
On 9 October 2024, Laza completed the challenge to become the first ever Romanian and the first ever Canadian man to climb all 14 eight-thousanders mountains. He accomplished this feat over a period of eight years. According to climbing records, he is the 60th person to achieve this milestone.[1] [2][3][4][5][6][7]
Adrian was 60 years and 10 months old when he reached the summit of Shishapangma,[8] his final 8,000m peak. This achievement made him the second-oldest person to complete all 14 eight-thousanders, following Spanish climber Òscar Cadiach, who achieved the feat in 2017 at age 64.
He was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Piatra Neamt în 2024, after climbing the Shishapangma summit.[9] [10]
