Adrian L. Del Valle is an American attorney serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Civil and Environmental Law within the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General. He represents the Commonwealth of Kentucky in litigation involving constitutional, administrative, and environmental law matters.
Early life and education
Del Valle graduated from Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial High School in 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Affairs from Florida State University in 2020, graduating cum laude and being inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu honor society.
He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law in 2023. During his time there, he received several honors, including the CALI Award for Environmental Law, the "Still We Rise" Scholarship (2022), the Joseph Green Memorial Scholarship (2023), and a Bar Prep Scholarship from the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He also served as a legal extern for the Kentucky Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.
Legal career
Early career
Del Valle began his legal career at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he advanced from law clerk to associate attorney. In this role, he represented clients in civil litigation matters, including employment law defense.
Kentucky Attorney General's Office
In 2024, Del Valle joined the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Civil and Environmental Law. His responsibilities include defending state statutes against constitutional challenges and representing state officials and agencies in both state and federal courts.
Notably, Del Valle co-filed a multistate lawsuit challenging the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's regulation of cryptocurrency. The lawsuit argued that the SEC's actions infringed upon state sovereignty and economic interests, particularly affecting Kentucky's cryptocurrency mining industry.
Professional affiliations
Del Valle is admitted to practice law in Kentucky and Texas, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and serves on the Amicus Brief Standing Committee of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
