Adel Faisal Abdulkarim Farooq known widely as Adel Farooq (born 18 October 1974) is an Emirati(United Arab Emirates) Singer, Actor and former international Cricket of UAE. Adel Has Played for UAE for a few Years as player and Vice Captain of the National Team of UAE. He has played Domestic cricket for Dubai Cricket Council (DCC) and Sharjah Colts, Mashreq Bank, ABN Amro Bank, Du Telecom, Farooq Cricket Club, Darjeeling Cricket Club, Dubai Mammoths, DCC Starlets, ECB Colts amongst others and is still active in the Domestic Arena for Dubai Mammoths.

After Cricket Adel Farooq ventured into singing and is a well known Published artist. With his songs available on all major Digital platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Saavn, Hungama[1], YouTube, YouTube Music and many more. He has also performed in many countries.

Adel Also Dabbled in acting and starred in the Highly acclaimed TV series on Zee TV and Express entertainment channels called Parwaaz, where he acted as the lead Villain and also sang the Title track of the TV series.

Parwaaz was official recognized as the record highest rated TV series by Times of India [2]

named as a one of a kind artist by Khaleej times[3] UAE' leading English news daily.

Adel has also been Named as one of the 20 Most Handsome men in UAE[4]

Early life

Adel was born into an Emirati family in 1974 in Dubai. Finished his early schooling at St Paul's English High School and went for further studies to Australia to pursue a Career in Thoroughbred Horse Racing and breeding his trip was cut short as he wanted to represent UAE Cricket team as they had just then qualified for the 1996 World Cup. Adel Came back to his home country UAE and joined the UAE cricket Camp. He was unfortunate to miss out on the final 16 man squad for the 1996 World Cup as he was in the pool of the 18 man squad. Immediately after the world cup Adel was promoted to the position of Vice Captain of the UAE National team and played for them for many years.

Later years

After retiring from cricket, Adel Worked for Dubai Police for a few years and also various Banks in the compliance field and side by side pursued his singing. Adel then had the opportunity of Acting in Parwaaz as the lead villain which was a UAE based Indo / Pak collaboration with actors from both the nation and Adel From UAE. His role was highly appreciated by the masses and his song Tujhe Bulandi ko choona hai is a hit amongst the youth till date. which was the title track of the TV series. The TV series was then telecasted later again on Zee salaam and Zee Arabic amongst other languages.

Interestingly Adel was also selected to play the Villain in the Salman Khan Starrer Tiger Zinda[5] Hai and shot his parts for a few days in Abu Dhabi, unfortunately had to back out of the movie due to visa delays for India.

Adel in the meantime kept making a name for himself with his singing, performing in many countries and releasing his Album in 2009 called Daastaan and then many more Cover songs and original singles[6]. like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil[7], Humein Tum Se Pyar Kitna[8], Ae Humnava[9], Teri Meri Kahani[10], Sanson Ki Maala to name a few.

Apart from Singing, Acting and Playing cricket Adel has also been a successful Team manager with the Legends team Gemini Arabians in the Masters Champions League in which his team went on to win the finals unbeaten throughout. The team comprised of Cricket Legends like Virendar Virender Sehwag, Kumar Sangakkara, Saqlain Mushtaq, Muttiah Muralitharan amongst many more. Also won the award for the Best manager in that tournament. Adel was highly appreciated for his professional approach and hard work and friendly nature by all the Legends not only in his team but rival teams.
