Adam Johnson is a Canadian classical conductor. He is currently music director and principal conductor of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, which is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Education

Johnson obtained a Bachelor of Music in piano performance at the University of Alberta in Edmonton,"UAlberta Performance graduate awarded major conducting role with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra". Career

Johnson's professional conducting debut was as Resident Conductor of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in Calgary, Alberta. [1] He later became Assistant then Resident conductor of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec assisting Kent Nagano for three seasons.[2] He was appointed Music Director of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra in 2023.[3]

Honours

Johnson was awarded the Jean-Marie Beaudet Award for orchestra conducting in 2015 [4] and an OPUS award with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in 2018.[citation needed]
