Acusensus

Acusensus is an Australian start-up founded in 2018 as part of the Melbourne Accelerator Program whose key goal is addressing distraction as well as other illegal behaviour.[1] Their solution is currently operating in New South Wales, Australia in conjunction with the government to deliver a world first mobile phone detection program.[2]

Acusensus partnered with the NSW Government to rollout a mobile phone detection camera program. The program went live on the 1st December 2019 with a warning letter phase before going to live enforcement on the 1st March 2020. In the first 3 months of operations, the program was able to detect over 30,000 drivers using their phones whilst driving. According to Transport for NSW the program will progressively expand to perform 135 million vehicle checks annually by 2023.[3]
