Abu Dhabi Sailing & Rowing Team is a marine sports academy that was founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan alongside his team members H.E. Ahmed Thani Murshid Al Romaithi, Mr. Majed Abdulla Mohammed Al Mehairi, and Mr. Bakheet Mohammed Salem Al Qubaisi. Moreover, the organization is dedicated to promoting and fostering the practice of marine sports, particularly sailing and rowing, in the United Arab Emirates. The club's unique location, exceptional coaching team, and successful hosting of various international events have contributed to the development of marine sports in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
Overview
Founded in 2009, the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Rowing Team promotes and facilitates traditional and modern marine sports, including dhows, local rowing, sailing, modern rowing, and speedboats. One of the club's primary objectives is to raise awareness about the importance of sailing and rowing in the UAE's cultural heritage. This is done by providing the necessary infrastructure to host local and international events. The academy's prime location on the famous Breakwater Beach in the Gulf and the Middle East allows it to host several local and international events annually. Additionally, the organization has organized events on other Abu Dhabi beaches and in Al Dhafra.
