Abhilash Shetty (born September 3, 1993) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor.[1][2][3] He made his directorial debut with the Kannada film Koli Taal [4][5] won him rave reviews. Koli Taal was screened at various film festivals like New York Indian Film Festival, Mumbai Film Festival[6] and Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

Early life

Shetty was born on 3 September 1993 in Shimoga, Karnataka in a Kannada speaking Bunt family.[7] He did his schooling in a boarding school Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Shimoga. Later he did a Bachelor of Commerce in ATNCC, Shimoga. After graduating, he worked as a financial analyst for two years at Capgemini in Bangalore, and then he quits his job to pursue his filmmaking dreams.[8]

Career

Abhilash started his filmmaking career by making short films, he wrote and directed short films called Crony, Vinashi, and 2 Missed Calls. Abhilash wrote, directed, and edited his debut feature film Koli Taal[9]
