Early Life and Education

Dr. Al Madani was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a child he used to like helping his father, Hanafi Al Madani, with the family tailoring business after school, gathering materials and cleaning up the shop. Throughout the years, he continued to work closely with his father to learn many different aspects in trading and investment.

In 1999, Dr. Al Madani earned a Masters in Hospital Management from Birmingham University. In 2010, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Management from Birmingham University. In 2019, he earned a Ph.D. in Humanities at L.U.de.S, University of Lugano, Switzerland.

In 2019, he was the first Arab to receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities by the United Campus of Malta, for his commitment towards humanitarian work around the world, in addition to his volunteer work to improve the overall health of society by combating smoking and drug abuse.[4]

Career

Dr. Al Madani currently serves as the Roving Ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the GCC. [5] [6]

In 1991, without much prior experience, he formed INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, which began hosting events in Dubai. Many of his close relatives and friends advised him against this and to stick to what he knew, but Dr. Al Madani was inspired by the leaders during his time, both Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who were both at the forefront of developing the UAE into a global economy. INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions started hosting events in small rooms, with not much success in the beginning. Eventually, the company endured and currently hosts some of the largest international events, which include the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai), known as the largest annual scientific dental conference and exhibition in the world.[7] [8] [9] [10]

In 2006, Dr. Al Madani formed INDEX Holding, a corporate company headquartered in Dubai, where he currently serves as the Chairman, and placed all other businesses as subsidiaries underneath it, which ranges from healthcare, events management, business management, investment and trading, textile trading and tailoring, media, and interior design.

Personal Life

Dr. Al Madani is married to his wife, Zamzam, and has 5 children, Anas Al Madani, Aiman Al Madani, Tariq Al Madani, Ghada Al Madani, and Sara Al Madani, all which head various subsidiaries and departments under INDEX Holding.
