Dr. A.M. Rawani, who is the Director of NIT Raipur since October 2017, is a professor in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to this, he is also one of the members of the Board of Governors of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering situated in Mumbai. His area of interest are Flexible System Management, Quality Management, and Strategic Management.[1]
Early life and education
Dr. A.M. Rawani was born in the year 1958 in Raipur located in Chhattisgarh. He has completed his M.Tech in the field of Industrial Engineering. He received his Management degree from I.I.T. Kharagpur and Ph.D. in Strategic Management from I.I.T. Delhi.
Career
Dr. A.M. Rawani has an administrative, research, and teaching experience of educational institutions of more than 35 years. Before becoming the Director of NIT Raipur, he has handled several senior-level positions which includes Dean (Faculty Welfare), Dean (Academic), Dean (Consultancy and Research), Dean (Administration), and Head of Department in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Raipur. Under his guidance and supervision, seven Ph.D. scholars were produced. Presently three more candidates are supervised by him for their doctoral program. He was invited to several countries like China, Dubai, Thailand, Indonesia, Switzerland, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, USA, Indonesia, and Hong Kong to deliver lectures.
Personal life
The name of his wife is Mumtaz Rawani, and they have a daughter and a son

In conferences and journals, Dr. Rawani has contributed more than a hundred papers of his research work. Not only this but he has also reviewed and cited several conferences and journals.
