Abayomi Adeyeri (born 27 October 1968) is a Nigerian banker, businessman, and author. He is the current Group Managing Director of Flobal Financial Services Limited and previously served as a regional director for Ecobank Nigeria.[1] He is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the author of Multiple Bold Steps.
Early life and education
Adeyeri was born in Owo, Ondo State. His father was a secondary school principal, and his mother was a professor at the University of Maiduguri.[2] He attended Owo High School for his secondary education.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University) in 1990 and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Maiduguri in 1994.[3]
Career
Banking
Adeyeri began his professional career as a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri before entering the banking sector in 1996 with Diamond Bank Nigeria. He later held operations and management roles at Standard Trust Bank and Prudent Bank (now Polaris Bank Limited).[4]
In 2004, he joined Ecobank Nigeria Limited, where he spent over a decade in various leadership capacities. He notably led the bank's Management Information System (MIS) Codification Project in 2013.[1] Before his voluntary resignation in 2015, he served as the Regional Head of Public Sector for the South-South and South-East directorates, managing operations across eleven states.[5]
Financial Services and Authoring
After leaving Ecobank, Adeyeri was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Flobal Trust Limited, a firm licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).[3] In August 2019, he became the Group Managing Director of Flobal Financial Services Limited, which is licensed and supervised by the Central Bank of Nigeria.[6]
He is the author of Multiple Bold Steps (2021), a book that draws from his two-decade banking experience to provide guidance on career reinvention and financial intelligence for youth and entrepreneurs.[2]
Personal life
Adeyeri is married to Ibironke Adeyeri, a businesswoman. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International and a United Nations Eminent Peace Ambassador through the Positive Livelihood Award Centre.[7]
