A. V. Santhosh Kumar is an Indian educator,[1] author,[2] and Fulbright Fellow from Udinur in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. He received the Kerala Government's State Teacher Award for the 2021–22 academic year.[3][4][5]

Teaching career

Santhosh Kumar began his professional career in 1987 as a teacher at Udinur Central A.U.P. School.[6] He served as the Headmaster of the institution until his retirement on 31 May 2025, completing 38 years of service in the education sector.[7]

He has served as an expert committee member for the State Textbook Committee,[8] Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK), SCERT,[9] and the State Literacy Mission.

Literary contributions

Santhosh Kumar published his first story at the age of sixteen. He has authored ten books across multiple genres, including short stories, poetry, travel writing, and children's literature.

International and national experience

As part of the U.S. Government's Fulbright Fellowship, Santhosh Kumar conducted educational research in the United States for five months. He presented papers at international seminars at Syracuse University and the University of Vermont. He also completed audit courses at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.

Nationally, he has participated in and led workshops organised by institutions such as RIE Bangalore, USIEF Chennai and New Delhi, Regional Institute Mysore, and the Kodak Education Foundation in Mumbai.

Education

Santhosh Kumar holds a bachelor's degree in Education and master's degrees in English and Sociology.
