Naveen Chandra is a Film Producer who runs a Fund for production, finance, marketing and distribution of feature films in Indian regional languages. He has so far produced Feature Films in Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi and Bengali languages and distributed films in Tamil and Telugu.
CAREER
Naveen Chandra received a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approval to launch The Storytellers Fund as a category II Alternate Investment Fund (AIF) in November 2019. The purpose of the Fund was to provide organized capital to produce Indian regional language feature films. The Fund would also invest in the production of Films in international languages other than English.
During the pandemic, he pivoted the Fund into operating Companies Mumbai Movie Studios and 91 Film Studios which have since produced 6 films in 4 languages, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali. In 2022, he distributed the Telugu version of the Tamil Film Master starring Vijay in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, followed by the Telugu Film Check in a few territories in AP.
Personal life
Born in Pune, Maharastra, in an Army family, Naveen spent most of his childhood in various parts of India. He has traveled and worked in 56 countries on 4 continents. He is a certified Advance Scuba diver, an open water swimmer, a half-marathoner and cyclist. In 2022, he completed the 1000km road trip on the Royal Enfield Bullet through the Khardungla Pass, Ladakh, the highest motorable road in the world. He follows the Chelsea Football club and loves technology.
