Early life and education

Her father, Marcos immigrated to the United States from the Philippines. He met her mother, Rose while stationed with the US Coast Guard, hoping to find an opportunity in the United States. Rose is a first-generation American with Hispanic roots. Malay attributes much of her success to the Immigrant mentality, and work ethic passed onto her from her parents.

Malay moved much during her childhood, including living overseas for a period in Panama, Central America. This instilled in Malay the ability to thrive and adjust to change.

She graduated from Baylor University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and also attended Parker College of Chiropractic and received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree in 1992. In 2019, Dr. Malay completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts, to expand her field of practice.

Career

After completing her doctorate, Malay started practicing as Chiropractor in Alliance Pain Centers. Right from the beginning, she identified the root causes of physical issues and developed treatment plans to alleviate them. Rather than simply addressing symptoms, Dr. Malay started taking a holistic approach to healthcare, seeking to address the underlying causes of diseases and conditions to achieve long-term wellness. This approach is known as functional medicine, combining conventional medicine with natural healing methods to help the body heal.[5]

Dr. Malay believes helping clients make lifestyle choices including nutrition and environment can often reduce or eliminate the need for medicine or surgery. Her current operations at Reclaim Health, uses non-surgical technology to treat lower back, neck, and sciatica pain. The DRX 9000 and DRX 9000C spinal decompression machines provide gentle, non-invasive, yet effective results. Laser therapy relieves muscle and joint pain and the burning skin sensation or tingling associated with neuropathy. Trigger point and joint injections use a plant-based ingredient to relieve symptoms and address the cause of muscle and joint pain.
