Aditya Modak (born 24 September 1995) is an entrepreneur, hotelier, dog lover and philanthropist, who is known for handling multiple businesses.[1] He is the founder of K9 Kennels, a hotelier with diverse experience in some of the most renowned hotels, and an owner of a catering business.[2] His love for dogs led him to the commencement of a business that revolved around fluffy creatures. Apart from helping expensive breeds find the right home, Aditya is also involved in activities that intend to care for street animals.[3]
Early life and education
Aditya Modak was born on 24 September 1995 to Vaman and Vaishnavi Modak. He spent his childhood in his hometown called Karade Khurd - Panvel. He completed his early education from JH Ambani Vidyalaya Lodhivali and later pursued a degree from the ITM Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai University. Aditya has been a dog lover, dog breeder, and social activist from an early age. He is one of those rare people who turn their deepest affection into a successful profession.
Career
Aditya’s entrepreneurship journey began when his parents refused to get him a pure breed expensive dog. In the beginning, he started by helping dog breeders sell out puppies.[4] After selling five puppies, the breeder agreed to give him a free german shepherd pup as demanded. He got a free puppy amidst the process and got an idea for a venture that changed his life entirely.[5]
K9 Kennel aims at bridging the gap between dog lovers and breeders by acting as a mediator in the import-export process of dogs.[6] Soon his business expanded, and he came across many celebrities who wanted to buy a dog.[7]
Aditya has worked with many renowned hotels, including Fortune Exotica, Taj Palace, Intercontinental, JW Marriott, and more, with a degree from ITM-IHM college.[8] His experience, knowledge, and interest in the hotel management field led to the commencement of yet another business in 2016. Aditya started his catering business while simultaneously continuing the dog trading venture. Both his businesses are succeeding due to his passion and love for the things he does.[9]
