Sir William Norwood (1548 – 1632) Esq, of Leckhampton Court in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, was a Member of Parliament and High Sheriff.
Origins
William Norwood was a son of Henry Norwood (c. 1523 – 1556) and Katherine Throckmorton (c. 1532 – 12 February 1580) daughter of Sir Robert Throckmorton of Coughton Court in Warwickshire. Norwood is descended from an old Kent line of family and his Norwood ancestors inherited Leckhampton Court starting in 1486 after the death of John Giffard as his daughter Eleanor married John Norwood, in which many generations of Norwoods lived in the Manor house.
