Utarani is a small village of 860 hectares in Baytoo Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Utarani depends on BALOTRA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Utarani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Utarani's pin code is 344034[4], and village code is 02121200. The area of Utarani is segregated as the 720 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 140 hectare area not available for cultivation.
