Taimus Werner-Gibbings (born 13 October 1981), is an Australian amateur actor and political candidate.
Early life
Taimus grew up in Weston Creek, Canberra. He studied at Lake Tuggeranong College.
Political career
Taimus ran in the 2016 Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly election as a ACT Labor candidate for Brindabella. He received 3,131 first-preference votes and achieved 0.4 quotas, finishing 3rd on the Labor ticket.[1] He ran again in Brindabella for the Labor Party at the 2020 Election, where he once again finished 3rd on the ticket, gaining 4,568 first-preference votes and 0.5 quotas.[2] He was narrowly defeated by Johnathan Davis of the Greens. In 2023, he initially was left off ACT Labor's ticket for the 2024 Election,[3]but was later reinstated after an intervention from Andrew Barr.[4]
Acting career
Taimus founded Shakespeare By The Lakes (Also known as Lakespeare) in 2017. It performs in the summertime and is based off Shakespeare In The Park in New York.[5]
Personal life
Taimus lives in Fadden with his wife and 3 children.
He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child.[6]
